Where the numbers come from

A chart is a calculation and a reading is an interpretation, and this site keeps the two apart on purpose.

算The chart is arithmetic: Every pillar, palace and star is computed from your birth moment, including the boundaries that trip people up: the year turns at the start of spring, not on 1 January, and the month turns on a solar term. Nothing here is guessed at.
讀The reading works from that chart alone: The interpretation is handed the finished chart and told that nothing outside it exists. Where a layer is not computed, it says so instead of inventing one.
